Obituary of Wylie Rowe

Graveside services for Wylie Rowe, age 66, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, June 20, 2021, at 3:00 PM at Forrester’s Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Chris Mitchell officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, June 19, 2021.

Mr. Rowe passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Hodges Rowe of Roanoke; two sons, Jody Rowe and Corey Rowe (Amber), both of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Chancelor Rowe, Alana Wright, Rebecca Rowe, Kylie Rowe, McKenzie Rowe, and Ethan Rowe; one great-grandchild, Shawn Wade; and three sisters, Nancy Smith, Donna Bozeman (Jim), and Wanda Barber (Jimmy), all of Roanoke.

A Roanoke native, Mr. Rowe was born on November 28, 1954, the son of Johnny and Elsie Scott Rowe.  He worked as a beamer operator at Amoco Fabrics and Fibers.  Mr. Rowe was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings, Jackson Rowe, Virginia Kelley, Rebecca Tillis, Gloria Dean Wright, and Mary Ann Hodges; and a brother-in-law, Emmett Smith.
