Obituary of Denny McCoy Pounds
Funeral services for Denny McCoy Pounds, age 89, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at 3:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jamie Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memory Gardens.
Mr. Pounds passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Lineville Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Facility.
Survivors include his spouse of 65 years, Shirley Johnson Pounds; sons, Tim and Chris; sister, Carolyn Holder; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A Roanoke native, Mr. Pounds was born on June 19, 1932, the son of Denson M. and Terrell Hudson Pounds. He was a graduate of Handley High School and a navy veteran. He retired from Williams Company with over 20 years of service. He was a member of Rock Mills Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Amanda Pounds.
