Obituary of Mary L Boyd
Funeral services for Mary Louise Holman Reynolds Boyd, age 86, of Woodland will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Horace Harper, Bro. John Kirk, and Sis. Carolyn Hanner officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, August 19, 2021.
Mrs. Boyd passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Lafayette Nursing Home in Lafayette, Alabama.
Survivors include: one daughter, Clara Reynolds of Woodland; two sisters, Linda Holman Spearman (John) and Brenda Y. Holman, both of Jemison, Al; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Shaffer, Michael Shaffer, Cliff Alewine, Kerry New, Chuck Barrett, and Charlie Brown.
A longtime Randolph County resident, Mrs. Boyd was born in Atlanta, Georgia, October 24, 1934, the daughter of Luther and Ida Lee Partee Holman. She was a homemaker, loving mother, and faithful Christian. Mrs. Boyd lived for her family and reverently served the Lord with all her heart. She was an inspiration to many when playing her guitar giving thanks and praise in songs she wrote to glorify her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Boyd’s love of music and songs of grace will be remembered by all who heard her voice singing praises to her Lord she held so dear in her walk of life. An angel on Earth and now rejoicing in Heaven, she will be greatly missed by the loved ones she left behind.
Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Forrest Junior Reynolds and Joe William Boyd; daughter, Sherry Louise Buitendyk; son, Forrest Luther Reynolds; twin brother and sister, Bobby and Betty Holman; and two other sisters, Mildred Holman Rainwater and Agnes Holman Peacock.
