Graveside services for Jerone Hester, age 71, of Roanoke will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Cedarwood Cemetery with Bro. Scott Whaley officiating. Quattlebaum Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at 1207 LaFayette Highway, Roanoke, AL 36274 after 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, until 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 9, 2021.

Mr. Hester passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021, at his residence.

Survivors include his mother, Doris Barnes Hester; two sons, Jeff Hester (Christena) of Roanoke, and Joey Hester (Ashleigh) of Franklin, GA; grandchildren, Jeffery Hester (Kelsea), Jacob Hester (Kara), Jordan Hester, Donavan Hester (Ashley), and Gray Hester; and great-grandchildren, Kailena Hester, Theo Hester and Kyilar Hester.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Hester’s family and friends. 

A Randolph County, Alabama, native, Mr. Hester was born on September 23, 1949, the son of Homer Jefferson Hester, Jr. and Doris Barnes Hester.  He was a member of Lowell United Methodist Church and worked as a fixer for Amoco Mills. Mr. Hester was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Irene Kent Hester; father; and sister, Essie Teresa Hester.
