Obituary of George Allan Kirby

George Allan Kirby, 48, of Baltimore, MD, passed away early Tuesday morning, Jan. 10, 2012 following a long illness. George was born in Huntsville, AL on April 5, 1963, the son of George Taylor Kirby and Anne (Davidson) Kirby. He grew up in Altamonte Springs, FL. After studying mechanical engineering at University of Central Florida he moved to Baltimore for work. He found he loved the "small town in the big city" and decided to stay. George is survived by his life partner, Geraldine Truax of Catonsville, MD as well as his mother, Anne Kirby of Winter Park, FL; his sister Roxanne Steed and her husband Ron of Mystic, CT; and twin nieces Chelsea and Heather Steed of Arlington, VA. A memorial celebration of his life will be held with family at White's Chapel in Roanoke, AL later this month. The family would like to thank the great medical team at Mercy Hospital and especially Dr. Maheshwari and Dr. Shim for their care and kindness in George's last days.
