Obituary of Grace Young

OBITUARY Funeral services for Grace Young, age 81, of Roanoke, will be held Sunday, February 5, 2012, at 2:00 pm from Union Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Len Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Saturday, February 4th. Mrs. Young will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning at 1:00 pm on Sunday. Mrs. Young died Friday, February 3, 2012, at Bethany House in Auburn. Survivors include one daughter, Penny Holloway (Pete) of Roanoke; two sons, Ricky Young (Doreen) and Micky Young (Deborah), all of Roanoke; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jeff Young, Scott Holloway, Chris Holloway, Coy Holloway, Jason Young and Colby Holloway. A lifelong Roanoke resident, Mrs. Young was born July 7, 1930, daughter of Bill and Ruthie Wagner Mickle. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Edgar Young; two brothers, Bobby Mickle and Glynn Mickle.
