I was a transplant from Mississippi at Rock Mills Jr. High School in 2013 and Sharon Gillespie welcomed me to the school, into her home, and her church. I will always treasure fond memories of the good times spent with her. I know she will be greatly missed by her family. You have my deepest condolences.
Sincerely,
Elaine Humphries, Columbus MS

I was shocked to read about Sharon's home-going. My mind has been filled with such wonderful memories from the times we shared with both Gary, Sharon & their families when I pastored at Rock Mills from 1976 thru 1979. Heaven is definitely brighter tonight. Our prayers are with Gary and the entire family, as well as the church & all her friends.

Two weeks after moving to Roanoke, I started teaching at Rock Mills Jr High School. After years of teaching, this was home as soon as I walked in the door, and Sharon was the biggest part of that. She was the kindest, most generous, and most loving person I had ever met. Everyone was her friend and everyone loved her. I can honestly say Sharon was the only person I have ever known who never said a negative word about anyone, and I never heard anyone say anything negative about her. What an amazing woman.
I loved her and I know how much she loved everyone she knew. Sharon Gillespie was the most awesome woman, and she will be sorely missed by everyone who ever crossed her path. Not many people have that legacy. I love you, Sharon, and will miss you terrible!!!!!!
