Obituary of William Wayne (Bill) Smith, Jr.

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

William Wayne (Bill) Smith, Jr.

December 21, 1960 – January 21, 2022

Our much-loved brother Bill is now in the presence of his Lord Jesus.  Bill loved God and the works of His hands.  He loved his family, his friends, his cats and dogs, birds and wildlife.  He enjoyed memorializing the people and things he loved in photography and sharing those photos and snapshots.  He loved his church family and had a special place in his heart for the youth – and they loved Bill.  He was funny and could make you laugh and always had a story to tell.  Bill was compassionate to those in need and was known to open his heart and home in certain circumstances.

Bill was a lifelong resident of Roanoke, Alabama and was the son of Wayne and Eddie Brown Smith.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Nan Smith and brother-in-law Lynn Ayres.  He is survived by sister Shan Smith Ayres and brother Cliff Smith.

There will be a memorial service for those that would like to attend at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 29th at Trinity Baptist Church in Roanoke, Alabama.  Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church.  Face masks are encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Baptist Church or your local animal shelter.

Until we meet again, Bill…
