Obituary of Basil Britton Jones
Basil Britton Jones, age 82, of Roanoke passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.
Survivors include: four sons, Robert Britton Jones of New Smyrna, FL, Nathan Oakman Jones of Roanoke, Shannon Clayton Jones of West Point, GA, and Aaron Carrington Jones of LaGrange, GA; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Bernard F. Jones of Columbus, GA, and Burt D. Jones of Roanoke.
An Ellaville, Georgia native, Mr. Jones was born on November 5, 1939, the son of Oscar Roy and Vera C. Womack Jones. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran and worked as a plumber and pipe fitter. Mr. Jones was self-employed and also worked for West Florida Piping, Fire Pack, and Jones Piping throughout his career. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Braxton Pearcy Jones, Byron Eugene Jones, Barney Lee Jones, and Buford Clinton Jones; and two sisters, Ava Vestuto and Neva Rogers.
