OBITUARY Funeral services for Doris Ranelle Laws Burks, age 74, of Rock Mills, will be held Sunday, March 18, 2012, at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Billy Allen and Rev. Gerald Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Saturday, March 17th. Mrs. Burks died Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Wedowee Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Howard Burks of Rock Mills; one daughter, Donna Nix of Rock Mills; three sons, Randy (wife, Donna Lynn) Burks, Jacky Burks both of Rock Mills, and Joey (wife, Amber) Brown of Roanoke; three sisters, Debbie (husband, Ronnie) Rushton, JoAn (husband, Billy) Bennett both of Rock Mills, and Paulette (husband, Gene) Burks of Roanoke; three brothers, Jimmy (wife, Carol) Laws of Franklin, GA, Gene (wife, Gail) Laws, and Eddie (wife, Myrna Lynn) Laws both of Rock Mills; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Kenny Rushton, Anthony Bowen, Tommy Rushton, Scotty Rushton, Ken Burks, Alex Thomas, Christopher Burks, and Keith Laws. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Brown, Will Potts, Payton Bowen, Kobe Rushton, Klayton Rushton, and Bradley Rushton. Mrs. Burks was born May 25, 1937, daughter of James and Tommie Rae Jackson Laws. She had been employed by Wehadkee Yarn Mills.
