Funeral services for Jack Lynwood Denham, age 90, and Norma Jean Atkins Denham, age 85, both of Wadley will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ricky Cummings and Bro. Randy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Forrester’s Chapel Cemetery.

The families will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, May 6, 2022.

Mr. and Mrs. Denham passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in Roanoke, Alabama.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Denham of Ohio and Debbie (Mike) Polston of Palmyra, TN; four sons, Scott Denham (Reba) of Mellow Valley, Brad (Martha) Bennett, Mike (Jennifer) Bennett, and Jimmy (Pamelia) Bennett, all of Wadley; 18 grandchildren, Cody Denham (fiancée, Makayla), Grace Denham, Emily Seckel, Andrew Hopkins, Jennifer Baker, Christopher Polston, Hannah Polston, Adam Polston, Benjamin Bennett, Chance Bennett, Tonya Caypless, Fallin Pearl, Kayla Bennett, Miranda Mitchum, Megan Samples, Jason Whaley, Rebecca Brown, and Alyssa Whaley; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Cody Denham, Ben Bennett, Jason Whaley, Matt Caypless, Zack Polston, and Adam Polston.

A Mellow Valley native, Mr. Denham was born on August 1, 1931, the son of R. J. and Thelma Fetner Denham.  He was a member of Mellow Valley Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a retired state trooper.  Mr. Denham was a United States Army veteran of the Korean conflict where his honorable service earned him two bronze stars and two purple hearts.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Jameson Hopkins.

A Wadley native, Mrs. Denham was born on March 5, 1937, the daughter of Charlie Brasher and Tessie Herd Grey Atkins.  She was a member of Hope Memorial Christian Church and was a retired teacher and had taught at Mellow Valley Elementary, Barfield Elementary, and Mellow Valley Christian Academy.  Mrs. Denham was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Bobbie Dawn Bennett; and brother, Charles B. “C.B.” Atkins.
