Obituary of Robert Windon Mitchell

OBITUARY Funeral services for Robert Windon Mitchell, age 63, of Roanoke, will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 5, 2012, from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Glass and Rev. Steve Baccus officiating. Burial to follow in Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 4th. Pallbearers will be Jim Banks, Derrick Norred, Chuck Norred, Jamie Norred, Shane Mitchell, Rick Camren and James Boyd. Mr. Mitchell died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at his home. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife Annette Jackson Mitchell of Roanoke, one daughter, Melissa (husband Terry) Royster of Roanoke; two sons, Gerald (wife Laine) Mitchell of Woodland, Chad Mitchell of Roanoke; one brother, Wayne (wife Barbara) Mitchell of Wetumpka; six grandchildren, Erin, Madison, Taylor, and Gracie Mitchell, Anna Marie and Karlee Royster. Mr. Mitchell was born, March 13, 1949, the son of James Andrew and Fannie Lou Nichols Mitchell. He was of the Methodist faith, had worked as a self-employed painter and worked as a painter for Randolph County Hospital. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Dovie Cummings, JoAnn Moon, Eula Mae Young, Maurine Barber, Annie Maude Dean; three brothers, Junior, Pete and Johnny Mitchell.
