OBITUARY
Funeral services for, Howard Hopson Burks, age 74, of Rock Mills, will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 15, 2012, from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Billy Allen officiating. Burial to follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, April 14, 2012.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Bowen, Kenneth Pike, Keith Pike, Kevin Pike, Timmy Burks, Jeremy Burks, Brian Laws, Tony Burks, and Keith Laws.
Mr. Burks died Friday, April 13, 2012, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Burks is survived by one daughter, Donna Nix of Rock Mills; three sons, Randy (wife Donna Lynn) Burks of Rock Mills, Jacky Burks of Rock Mills, Joey (wife Amber) Brown of Roanoke; one sister, Betty Ann Pike of Rock Mills, two brothers, Steve Burks of Rock Mills, Nathan Burks of Rock Mills; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
Mr. Burks was born April 17, 1937, the son Hoyt and Louise Sheppard Burks. He was of the Baptist faith and retired as a fixer for Wehadkee Yarn Mills. Mr. Burks was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ranelle Burks; his parents; one grandson, Cody Russell Nix; two sisters, Peggy Smith and Gennelle Rainwater.
