OBITUARY
Funeral services for Abigail Shelnutt Strain, age 77, of Roanoke, will be held Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 11:00 am, from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Edward Herren officiating. Burial to follow in Liberty Grove Methodist Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 18, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
Mrs. Strain died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Roanoke Health Care.
Mrs. Strain is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Strain of Roanoke; one son, Marty Ray Strain of Roanoke; two sisters, Carolyn Johnson of Valley, Sara Williamson of Roanoke; two brothers, Barrett Shelnutt of Roanoke, Edward Shelnutt of Roanoke; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Strain was born September 27, 1934, the daughter of Corbin Lee and Elizabeth Key Shelnutt. She was a member of the Napoleon Church of Christ and had worked as a sewing machine operator for Playtex. Mrs. Strain was preceded in death by her husband Ray Strain and her parents.
