Obituary of Annia Hester Shelnutt
Annia Hester Shelnutt, age 87, of Roanoke passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022, at her residence.
Survivors include: one son, Chris Shelnutt of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Shelnutt, Elizabeth Ann Pike (Billy), and Logun Shelnutt, all of Roanoke; and six great-grandchildren, Kaiden Pike, Destiny Mitchum, C. J. Pike, Katelyn Pike, Madilyn Medeiros, and Alec Shelnutt.
A Wadley native, Mrs. Shelnutt was born on March 23, 1935, the daughter of Emily A. and Elizabeth Alice Melton Hester. She worked at Handley Mills, Traylor’s Retirement Center, was a sitter for the elderly, and storekeeper at Hester’s Store at Malone. Mrs. Shelnutt was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, H. Perry Shelnutt; and several brothers and sisters.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home to go towards final expenses.
