Obituary of Robert k Edwards

OBITUARY Funeral services for Robert K. Edwards, age 81, of Roanoke, will be held, Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 11:00 am, from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Dean officiating. Burial to follow in Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. Mr. Edwards died Monday, April 30, 2012, at his home. Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Dean Edwards of Roanoke; one daughter, Janet S. Edwards of Pelham; one son, Kenneth B. (wife Jan) Edwards of LaGrange, GA; one brother, Ray (wife Eloise) Edwards of Montevallo; two grandchildren, Matt and Alex Edwards of LaGrange, GA; host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Edwards was born May 31, 1931, the son of W. M. and Hattie Wright Edwards. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, had served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and had been a practicing CPA in Roanoke from 1968 to retirement in 2010. Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Earl, Billy, Elbert and Paul Edwards. Flowers will be accepted or donations to First Baptist Church.
