Funeral services for Wesley Spears, age 78, of Roanoke, will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. S. T. Janney officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at Broughton.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, November 20th.

Mr. Spears passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery.

Survivors include one daughter, Angela Massey of Roanoke; four sons, Michael Spears of Winchester, Va., Tim Spears (Wanda) of Roanoke, Marc Spears of Roanoke and Cody Crawford (fiancée, Deseree Southers) of Oxford; four grandchildren, Halie Spears, James Lewis Spears, Patricia Cameron and Tiffany Scarberry; three great-grandchildren, Lakyn Hawkins, Kameron Kelley and Emory Killian; two sisters, Fay Stephens and Ann Skraback, both of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Tim Spears, Cody Crawford, James Lewis Spears, Daniel Bozeman, Dylan Mauldin, and Hunter Mitchell.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Spears was born September 25, 1944, the son of Leon and Lou Mindy McDaniel Spears.  He had been employed with the City of Roanoke Street Department.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Charlene Bozeman Spears; three sisters, Margaret Waldings, Kathleen Spears, Shirleen Spears; two brothers, Virgil Spears and Lee Spears; and a nephew, Greg Waldings.

Memorials may be floral, or the family would appreciate contributions toward funeral expenses.
