Funeral services for Emogene Smith, of Roanoke, will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022, at 12:00 PM CST at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ricky Cannon officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday before services begin. 

Mrs. Smith passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Rogers (Ruben) of Roanoke, Ala.; brother, Bobby Brewer of Valley, Ala.; seven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Swann (Harold) or Valley, Ala.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Scott, Cole Scott, Brent Cofield, Ruben Rogers, Brian Mitchell, and Jamison Vowell. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Gurley and Jachin Taft.

Mrs. Smith was born on June 8, 1942. She is the daughter of John and Eartelle Vinson Cummings. Mrs. Smith was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and spent her years as a stay-at-home wife and mother. She enjoyed reading and walking, as well as spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas L. Smith; and daughter, Marie Mitchell (and her husband, Wallace).
