Obituary of Lynward H. "Bud" Morton
Graveside services for Lynward H. “Bud” Morton, age 90, of Navarre, Florida, formerly of Selma, Alabama, will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Randolph Memory Gardens with Rev. Donnie Pike officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until service time on Tuesday.
Mr. Morton passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Beehive Assisted Living in Gulf Breeze, Florida.
Survivors include: two daughters, Lisa Morton Gambill (Blair) and Myra Morton Hill (Tommy); two sons, George Christopher Morton (Magdalena) and Charles Dana Morton (Kate); eight grandchildren, Zachery Gilley, Logan Gilley, Meaghon Morton, Kurt Hill, Rebecca Morton, Landen Gambill, Connor Hill, and Charles Morton; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Geraldine Joyce Bell (LaVan).
Pallbearers will be Mr. Morton’s sons and grandsons.
A Chambers County, Alabama native, Mr. Morton was born on July 25, 1932, the son of George and Nora Childers Morton. He was Christian by faith, a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict, and a retired purchasing agent for Bushhog. Mr. Morton enjoyed watching Alabama football, cooking and entertaining for friends, and catching up with co-workers whenever he could. He loved his family more than anything and would talk about how proud he was of his children and grandchildren whenever he had the opportunity. Mr. Morton was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thelma Hill Morton; a great-grandson, Nolan Thompson; and two sisters, Lucille Mitchell and Rochelle Horn.
