Obituary of Jane H Taylor
Funeral services for Jane H. Taylor, age 78, of Roanoke will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Big Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Jason Owens and Rev. Lynn Mayall officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Ms. Taylor will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Thursday.
Ms. Taylor passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022, at her residence.
Survivors include: two sons, Bob Taylor (Sherrie) of Roanoke and Scott Taylor (Pam) of Woodland; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Holloway and Angie Bass, both of Roanoke, and Mary Wilkins (Lynn) of Wadley; and one brother, Tony Heard (Kay) of Wedowee.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Cosper, Chrispin Reese, Joey Burns, Mike Potts, Tim Hall, Don McManus, Bill Caypless, and Jesse Reynolds. Honorary sisters will be Susan Murphy, Jeanette Huddleston, Melissa Warren, Marsh Cosper, Marie Bailey, and Sherree Heard.
A longtime Roanoke resident, Ms. Taylor was born in LaGrange, Georgia, on June 11, 1944, the daughter of Delbert and Bertha Emfinger Heard. She was Baptist by faith and worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for Southern Home Comfort. Ms. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel Pate; and two honorary sisters, Sandra Murphy and Dorthy Mitchell.
