Obituary of Alice Mearl Benefield

OBITUARY Funeral services for Alice Mearl Benefield, age 66, of Roanoke, will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 23, 2012, from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Benefield and Rev. Bill Calhoun officiating. Burial to follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 22nd, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Emergency Medical Transport Personnel. Ms. Benefield died Monday, May 21, 2012, at Roanoke Health Care. Ms. Benefield is survived by three sisters, Mary Lois Moore of Roanoke, Lorena Minix of Roanoke, Catherine Benefield of Roanoke; two brothers, Earl Benefield of Union Springs, David Benefield of Roanoke; thirteen nieces and nephews. Ms. Benefield was born May 15, 1946, the daughter of Charles B. and Clementine Garrison Benefield. She was a member of the Handley Ave. Church of God and had worked as a seamstress for Palm Beach Company. Ms. Benefield was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Gladys Pearl Benefield; one brother, Homer Levi Benefield. Condolences may be expressed at www.quattlebaumfuneralhome.com.
