Funeral services for Sandra Jean King Hughes, age 69, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Keith Benefield officiating.  Burial will follow at Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, January 20, 2023.

Mrs. Hughes passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at her residence.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Arthur Hughes of Roanoke; three daughters, Teresa Roberts Almond (Greg), Nancy Hughes Kirk (Stephen), and Jennifer Hughes Velazquez (Bryant), all of Roanoke; one son, Benny Wayne Roberts of Blakely, GA; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jacklyn Delores Donalson (A.J.) of Bainbridge, GA, and Jewell Marie “Judy” King Baggett of Cairo, GA; an aunt, Addie Ray Stewart Chapman of Bainbridge, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Roberts, James Baggett, Conner Baggett, Tyler Ray Almond, Tritt Almond, and Allen Kelley.

A Bainbridge, Georgia native, Mrs. Hughes was born on February 13, 1953, the daughter of E. C. and Linnie Sue Stewart King.  She attended Midway Full Gospel Church.  Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, E. C. “Butch” King, Jr., and James Richard King; and one sister, Susan Patricia King.
