                        Graveside services for Nellie Avery Estes, 87, of Birmingham, Alabama will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023, at 12 noon at Rocky Mount Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Daviston with Elder Johnathan Blakeley officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Estes passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023, in Birmingham. Survivors include: one son, Cary Estes (Laura Levie) of Birmingham and two grandchildren, Katherine Estes and Brian Estes of Atlanta. 

A Chambers County native, Mrs. Estes was born on December 11, 1935, the daughter of Harvey Roy and Elma Duck Avery.  She was a member of Rocky Mount Primitive Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed attending Sacred Harp singings and was an avid watcher of Jeopardy. 

Mrs. Estes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles V. Estes; a son, Charles B. Estes; and four sisters. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials in Mrs. Estes’ memory be made to one’s favorite Alzheimer’s foundation.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.quattlebaumfuneralhome.com.
