Obituary of Doris Pope Taylor

OBITUARY Funeral services for Doris Pope Taylor, age 92, of Roanoke, will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Rock Stand Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Gary Henderson and Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating. Burial to follow in Cedarwood Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Johnny Sanders, Ted Henderson, Mrs. Taylor died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Wedowee Hospital. Mrs. Taylor is survived by one son, Rodney (wife Mary) Taylor of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Lisa Montgomery, Jenaya Duke and Stacey Taylor; one nephew, Elon Pope of Talladega. Mrs. Taylor was born May 13, 1920, the daughter of Andrew Jackson and Emma Barton Pope. She was a member of the Rock Stand Congregational Christian Church and had worked as a seamstress for Palm Beach Company. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie B. Taylor; one son, Harold Taylor; three brothers, Bunyun, Caron, and Avery Pope. Flowers will be accepted or donations to the Rock Stand Congregational Christian Church.
