Our sincere condolences to the family of Mary Messer. She was so warm and kind, a true Southern lady, and she was a special friend to my mother, Evelyn Norton. I always enjoyed calling the flower shop to order flowers for Mom. Mrs. Messer left a positive impact on her friends and community that cannot be replaced. She is missed.
Sharing in your loss,
Bill and Lori Norton

Q: How would you describe Mary to someone who had never met them?
A: David S. Stevenson and I remember Mrs. Mary as being a gentle, thoughtful, and caring person, with bit off joy added. She always laughed with others which made times in her presence enjoyable. Also, Mrs. Mary helped the Roanoke community by being a florist business woman who blessed many people with her floral talent. We also enjoyed talking with her at the Roanoke First Methodist Church.

Such a sweet lady. My grandkids from Mississippi and Arkansas loved visiting Mrs Mary at the Nursing Home. They would always ask if we were going to get to visit Mrs. Mary. I will miss her!
