Obituary of Jerry Dewayne Pittman

Funeral services for Jerry DeWayne Pittman, age 76, of Wadley will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Bro. Alan Hurst officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday.  Mr. Pittman will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Monday.

Mr. Pittman passed away Friday, May 5, 2023, at LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville, Tennessee.

Survivors include his wife, Audette McGill Waldrep Pittman; son, Brian Waldrep (Brooke) of Valley, AL.; grandchildren, Logan House, Samantha House, Sawyer Waldrep, Lola Waldrep, Finn Waldrep, and Anna Clare Waldrep; special aunt, Bobbie Avant of Daytona, FL.; special cousin, Leighann Avant of Daytona, FL.; many cousins, great nephew, Tyler Blalock.

Pallbearers will be Phillip McGill, Sonny McGill, Chad Hopkins, Jeremy McGill,  Brian Waldrep, and Tyler Blalock.

Mr. Pittman was born in Cedartown, Georgia on April 5, 1947, the son of Robert and Mary Kate Barnett Pittman. He was Baptist by faith and was a retired electrician from Williams Construction. Mr. Pittman was a US Army Veteran and proudly served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Pittman was preceded in death by his parents; son, Aaron Waldrep; and daughter, Leah Meadows.
