Obituary of Alma Forman

Funeral services for Alma Ponder Forman, age 95, of Wadley will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 12:00 noon Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Mickey Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Wadley City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 AM on Thursday before services begin.

Mrs. Forman passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Chapman Healthcare in Alexander City.

Survivors include: three grandchildren, James Michael Forman, Rachel Griffin, and Jennifer Dees; four great-grandchildren, Myles Forman, Krissi Johns, Taylor Speaks, and Michael Speaks; and three great-great-grandchildren, Madison Johns, Olivia Johns, and Grayson Speaks.

Pallbearers will be Scott Johns, John Griffin, Taylor Speaks, and Michael Speaks.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Forman was born on February 7, 1928, the daughter of Dan and Mae Carlton Ponder.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill Community Church and worked at the West Point plant in Lanett before it closed and also at Clegg’s Manufacturing in Wadley.  Mrs. Forman was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cleburne Forman; a son, James Forman; and a daughter, Frances Marilyn Dees.
