Funeral services for Wendell Arthur Knight, Sr., age 72, of Wadley will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 6:00 PM at the Corinth Fire Department with Bro. Mike Brewer, Sis. Shirley Meddick, Lee Knight, and Gary Clark officiating.  Burial will follow at Corinth Christian Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the fire department from 2:00-6:00 PM on Saturday before services begin.

Mr. Knight passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, GA.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Knight of Wadley; one son, Wendell A. Knight, Jr., (Amanda) of Wadley; one grandchild, Katelyn Knight Freeman (Jon); and one sister, Ramona Madden of Woodland.

Pallbearers will be Malcom Bassett, Michael Caypless, Matt Caypless, Lee Knight, Joe Knight, Aaron Reaves, Christian Reaves, and Jon Freeman.

A Wadley native, Mr. Knight was born on July 10, 1950, the son of John Mitchell and Madge Carson Knight.  He was a member of Corinth Christian Church and worked in maintenance at Amoco Fabrics and Fibers.  Mr. Knight was a founding member of the Corinth Volunteer Fire Department in 1974 and dedicated much of his time supporting and building up the department to help the community.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Julian M. Knight.
