OBITUARY
Funeral services for, Emory Joe Mapp, age 69, of Roanoke, will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 12, 2012, from Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Shannon Mapp and Rev. Ben Milam officiating. Mr. Mapp will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial to follow in the adjoining church cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be L. W. Culbertson, Bobby Norred,
Mr. Mapp died Monday, July 9, 2012, at East Alabama Medical Center.
Mr. Mapp is survived by his wife, Lila Ruth Tidwell Mapp of Roanoke; one daughter, Melissa Mapp of Roanoke; one son, Keith (wife Zelda) Mapp of Roanoke; one grandchild, Colby Ryan Mapp of Roanoke; two sisters, Letha (husband Holly) Howard of Roanoke, Marie Gray of Roanoke; two brothers, Billy (wife Ann) Mapp of Valley, Jerry (wife Trudy) Mapp of Wadley.
Mr. Mapp was born April 17, 1943, the son of Emory Austin and Rosa Lee Fincher Mapp. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and had worked as a truck driver for West Point Pepperell and West Point Stevens. Mr. Mapp was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Oneal, Benny, Ernest, and Richard Mapp; two sisters, Sarah Norred and hazel Owens.
