OBITUARY
Funeral services for George John Cassioppi, age 88, of Roanoke, will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 1, 2012, from St. Anthony Catholic Church, Rockford, IL. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Rockford, IL with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 31st, at Gasparini & Oliveri Funeral Home, Rockford, IL.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jeremy Padersen, David July, Kyle Longgardener, Paul Cassioppi, Tom Hawkins and Chris Bowers.
Mr. Cassioppi died Friday, July 27, 2012, at Lafayette Nursing Home.
Mr. Cassioppi is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Yarbrough of Roanoke, Margurite Clausen of Rockford, IL, Pamela (husband Richard) Collinge of Phoenix City; two sons, Paul Cassioppi of Rockford, IL, George JR (wife Chris) Cassioppi of Rockford, IL; one sister, Ann Galluzzo of Rockford, IL; one brother, Joseph Cassioppi; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
Mr. Cassioppi was born September 10, 1923, the son of Paul and Dominica Calcagno Cassioppi. Mr. Cassioppi was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church and had worked as an auto parts manufacturer for Sunstrans.
