Obituary of Samuel B. Levie

 Funeral services for Samuel B. Levie, 79, of Roanoke will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Brewer officiating.  Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 PM On Thursday before services begin. 

Mr. Levie passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Levie of Roanoke; four children, Sammy Levie of Spartanburg, SC, Bill Maddox (Kelley) of Fayetteville, GA, Melodie Roberts (Chris) of Inman, SC, and Dawn Chandler (David) of Roanoke; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose Furlow of Etna, OH; and two brothers, Maurice Katoen of Centerville, VA, and Barney Levie (Mary) of Vancouver, WA.

Pallbearers will be Bill Maddox, David Chandler, Jonathan Chandler, Sammy Levie, Luke Maddox, and Trevor Chandler.

A Holland native, Mr. Levie was born on December 31, 1943, the son of Leendert and Esther “Oma” Tokkie Levie.  He was a member of Rock Mills Methodist Church and retired from AT&T where he worked in IT.  Mr. Levie was also a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam conflict.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sara Fahlbush.
