Chet Ramsey died Sunday, November 5, 2023, at University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital Downtown Birmingham as a result of a stroke.  He was an Organ Donor and as in life, in the end he gave of himself as completely as he could to others in need.  Chet was a loving husband, amazing father, grandfather, and devoted friend.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30-7:30 PM on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

Survivors include his wife Beth (Bourque) of Warrior; Sons, Chase (Emily) Ramsey of Opelika, AL, Adam (Caroline) Ramsey of Wedowee, AL, Aaron Ramsey of Warrior, AL, and Austin (Tatum) Ramsey of Auburn, AL; one Brother, Allen (Tammy) Ramsey of Roanoke, AL; and one sister, Rita Denton of Roanoke, AL. A Randolph County native, Mr. Ramsey was born December 9, 1963, the youngest son of Allen Lebert Ramsey and Reba June Garrett Ramsey.  He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, leaving his roots in place even after moving to Tallassee, and later Warrior.  Chet graduated from Handley High School, he is an Alumni of Opelika Technical Institute, and Marion Military Academy. Many young men knew him as Coach Chet from Little League or Peewee Football or viewed him as a 2nd Father.  He continued this trend to current day. Countless co-workers reached out to share the special impact Chet made in their lives.  Chet was most recently employed as an Operation/Engineering & Maintenance Manager at VAE Nortrak in Birmingham. Previously he worked as an Engineer in Tallassee, AL at GKN Aerospace, and before that at Mohawk Industries in Roanoke, AL.

Mr. Ramsey is preceded in death by his parents Allen and Reba, sister Betty Ramsey, sister in-law Barbara Ramsey, brother-in-law David Denton, and nephew David Ramsey.

The last words we heard Chet speak were ROLL TIDE and we all cheered!

Memorials may be floral or please consider a donation to charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
