Barbara C. Wood, age 92, of Roanoke, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Tanner Medical center in Carrollton, GA. A private interment will be held at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in Roanoke in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00-5:00 PM on Sunday, November 19.

Survivors include: her husband of 75 years, James N. Wood; a daughter, Jan Leatherman (Tim) of Shelby County, AL; a son, Tommy Wood (Gale) of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Michael Wood, Kristen Dean (Chris), and Emily Janchus (Nate); four great-grandchildren, Jake Dean, Sara Dean, Tucker Janchus, and Lucy Janchus.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Dean, Nate Janchus, Michael Wood, Jake Dean, and Tucker Janchus.

A Birmingham, AL native, Mrs. Wood was born on May 28, 1931, the daughter of George Thomas and Alma Cox Conway. She was Christian by faith and had attended Brookhaven Methodist Church and Pineywoods Church of Christ. Mrs. Wood was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Doris Brandon.
