Obituary of Michael David Waldrep

Funeral services for Michael David Waldrep, age 66, of Wadley, will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 13, 2012, from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clifford Delee and Rev. Keith Benefield officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Quattlebaum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 12, 2012, at the funeral home. Mr. Waldrep died Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Wedowee Hospital. Pallbearers will be Pat Waldrep, Michael Goss, Brian Goss, Leslie Waldrep, Larry Waldrep, and Dustin Waldrep. Mr. Waldrep is survived by his wife, Mamie Pike Waldrep of Wadley; four sons, Chance Waldrep and Danny Gene Waldrep both of Wadley and Charles "Bo" Waldrep and Randy Waldrep both of Roanoke; his mother, Florine Waldrep; two brothers, Gary Waldrep and Larry Waldrep both of Roanoke; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; special sister-in-law, Clara Royster; and special niece, Anita Hogan. Mr. Waldrep was born March 26, 1946, the son of Hershel Fred and Florine Thompson Waldrep. He had been employed as a supervisor with West Point Pepperell and was a member of Community Baptist Church. Mr. Waldrep was preceded in death by his father, Hershel Waldrep; one daughter, Barbara Lewis; two brothers, Bro. Kenny Waldrep and Wayne Waldrep.
