Obituary of Judy Sheppard Awbrey
Judy Sheppard Awbrey, age 75, of Roanoke passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Bethany House in Auburn.
Survivors include her husband, Mark B. Awbrey of Roanoke; one son, Mark W. Awbrey (Christina) of Auburn; two grandchildren, William Awbrey and Abbie Kate Awbrey; one brother, Edwin A. Sheppard (Geraldine) of Decatur, GA; three nephews, David Sheppard, Rick Sheppard, and Patrick Awbrey; and one niece, Patrice Hull.
A Roanoke native, Mrs. Awbrey was born on March 23, 1948, the daughter of Dwight Hillis and Merle Stilwell Sheppard. She was Methodist by faith and was the owner/operator of Sheppard’s in downtown Roanoke for 60 years. Mrs. Awbrey enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A private family graveside service will be held at Cedarwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to the Bethany House in Auburn or to the American Cancer Society.
