Obituary of Doris Elizabeth Bolt
Funeral services for Doris Elizabeth Bolt, age 100, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Scott Whaley officiating. Interment will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Quattlebaum Funeral Home on Sunday the 21st, from 1:00-2:00 PM.
Ms. Bolt passed away Monday, January 15, 2024, at Traylor’s Health & Rehab Center.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons: Troy Null, Chris Rampy, Jordan Rodgers, Christopher Rodgers, Noah Holland, and Justin Bolt.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Noles of Roanoke; son, William Douglas Bolt (Joanne) of Pueblo, CO; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ms. Bolt was born in Chambers County, Alabama, on December 12, 1923, the daughter of William Nae and Flossie Floyd Stephens. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and later attended Faith Baptist Church. Ms. Bolt retired from Milliken Kex Plant and afterwards found herself bored, so she went to work at Wal-Mart in Roanoke and eventually retired again, this time well into her 80s. She loved sewing and gardening. Ms. Bolt also enjoyed cooking. Whether she was working or not, she baked pies or cakes every Sunday and delivered them to the Wal-Mart breakroom for all her coworkers to enjoy. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, R.C. Bolt; her son, Don Bolt, of LaGrange, GA; three brothers and several sisters.
