Obituary of Joyce L Knight
Funeral services for Joyce Lilian Bexley Knight, age 88, of Wadley will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Corinth Christian Church with Bro. Ricky Cummings officiating and Ellen Huckabay delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Mrs. Knight will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Thursday.
Mrs. Knight passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at her daughter’s residence.
Survivors include: one daughter, Deborah Ann Knight Pate (W.C.) of Roanoke; three sons, Dale William Knight (Carol) of Wadley, Matthew Charles Knight (Dianne), and Mark Vance Knight (Tanya) of Alexander City; nine grandchildren, Ashley Johnson (Brad), Suzanne Brown (Michael), Ellen Huckabay (George), Erica Strength (Cory), Matt Knight (Deanna), Luke Knight, Jackson Knight, Bexley Knight, and Lilli Knight; and seven great-grandchildren, Alyx Johnson, Jax Johnson, Lindsey Brown, Bryce Brown, Will Huckabay, Remington Strength, and Drake Strength.
Pallbearers will be Brad Johnson, Michael Brown, George Huckabay, Cory Strength, Matt Knight, Luke Knight, and Jackson Knight. Honorary pallbearers will be Will Huckabay, Bryce Brown, Jax Johnson, Remington Strength, and Drake Strength.
A London, England native, Mrs. Knight was born on May 7, 1935, the daughter of William Henry and Beatrice
Alexandra Kreetzer Bexley. She was a member of Corinth Christian Church and worked as an office clerk at the Roanoke Stockyard. Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Knight; one sister, Jean Goode; and one brother, Rhys Bexley.
