Graveside services for Hazel Ruth Calhoun, age 84, of Wadley will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM at New Hope West Baptist Cemetery with Bro. Mike Brewer officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Calhoun passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at her residence.

Survivors include: one daughter, Lonetta Pike of Roanoke; two sons, Wesley Tyron Calhoun (Vickie) of Roanoke and Anthony “Tony” Glenn Calhoun (Sandy) of Wadley; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

A Wadley native, Ms. Calhoun was born on July 31, 1939, the daughter of John Robert “Bob” and Lena Ruth Worthy Lashley.  She was a member of New Hope West Baptist Church and worked as an LPN at Traylor’s Nursing Center before retiring.  Ms. Calhoun was preceded in death by her parents; great-grandson, Bradey Pike; son-in-law, Douglas Pike; three brothers, Bobby Joe Lashley, James Lashley, and Herman Lashley; and two sisters, Alice Brewer and Dimple Pilgrim.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorials be made in Ms. Calhoun’s memory to New Hope West Baptist Church.
