Obituary of Martha Josephine Halsey

OBITUARY Funeral services for Martha Josephine Halsey, age 77, of Wadley, will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 1, 2012, from Rock Stand Christian Church with Joseph Halsey, Rev. Ryan Conger, Rev. Kenneth Johnson, Rev. Cecil Halsey and Rev. Noel Vickers officiating. Burial to follow in New Hope Congregational Christian Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 30th and 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 31st at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Richard Halsey, Mike Halsey, Mark Halsey, James Curtis Halsey, Mitchell Sutton, and Bo Sutton. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Halsey, Jr., Joseph Halsey, Leon Smith and Alan Wortham. Mrs. Halsey died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Bethany House. Mrs. Halsey is survived by two daughters, Resa and Windy Halsey both of Wadley; four sons, Tom C Halsey, JR, Richard Halsey, James Mark Halsey and George Michael Halsey all of Wadley; six grandchildren, Mitchell Joseph Sutton, Alyson Trimble, James Curtis Halsey, Joseph Richard Halsey, Brandon Cofield, and Steve Freeman; one great grandchild, Chelsie Trimble. Mrs. Halsey was born October 29, 1934, the daughter of James Robert and Mary Frances Osborne. She was a member of the Rock Stand Christian Church and had been a seamstress for Clegg Manufacturing in Wadley.
