Obituary of Perry Joe Sudduth
Funeral services for Perry Joe Sudduth, age 82, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Mark Brand, Bro. Ronnie Cook, and Bro. Jack Vidler officiating. Burial will follow at Heritage Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 PM on Friday before services begin.
Mr. Sudduth passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, Georgia.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Weaver Sudduth of Roanoke; two daughters, Angel Calhoun (Craig) of Roanoke and Melissa Whitehead (Donald) of Macon, GA; two sons, Kevin James Sudduth (Michele) and William Dexter Anglin (Renee), both of Roanoke; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Danny Joe Sudduth, John Gurr, Tommy Yarbrough, Adam Yarbrough, Justin Anglin, and Cody Roberts.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Sudduth was born on June 16, 1941, the son of Joseph Daniel and Lois Jean Laster Sudduth. He was a member of Handley Avenue Church of God, a graduate of the Handley High School class of 1962, and worked as a superintendent in the cloth room at Handley Mills before retirement. Mr. Sudduth enjoyed spending his spare time working on tractors and loved cheering for the Crimson Tide. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Debra Sudduth; one son, Ronnie Anglin; and three brothers, Albert Jimmy Sudduth, Ray Garrison Sudduth, and Charles Sudduth.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Handley Avenue Church of God.
