OBITUARY
Funeral services for Floyd Yarbrough, age 91, of Roanoke, will be held, Saturday, September 15, 2012, from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Stanley Yarbrough and Rev. Harold Bonner officiating. Burial to follow in Wehadkee Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 14th, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Yarbrough, Adam Yarbrough, Mandel Yarbrough, Clint Yarbrough, Render Yarbrough, and Harold Whitaker.
Mr. Yarbrough died Thursday, September 13, 2012, at Traylor Nursing Home.
Mr. Yarbrough is survived by one son, Floyd C. "Curt" Yarbrough and wife Jean of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Tommy and Adam Yarbrough; five great grandchildren.
Mr. Yarbrough was born February 14, 1921, the son of C. B. and Lillie Maude Johnson Yarbrough. He was a member of the Rock Mills Methodist Church, worked in maintenance for Millican Mills and served in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Yarbrough was preceded in death by his wife, Lamerle Benefield Yarbrough; two brothers, Rufus and Wilson Yarbrough; one sister, Myrneal Thompson. Flowers will be accepted or donations to the Rock Mills Fire Department, c/o Tony Moore.
