Obituary of Ruth Upton Moseley
Funeral services for Ruth Upton Moseley, age 98, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the First Methodist Church of Roanoke with Rev. Paul Messer officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00-3:00 PM on Friday before services begin.
Mrs. Moseley passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Traylor’s Retirement Center in Roanoke.
Survivors include: two daughters and son-in-law, Lynn Hunt and Bart of Huntsville and Ruth Ann Moseley Biddle of Rainbow City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip Jackson Moseley, Jr., and Lisa of Alabaster and Robert Upton Moseley and Rebecca of Auburn; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brant Biddle, Phillip Peek, Gardner Moseley, Alex Heald, Jeff Binkley, Dallas Thomas, and Matt Williams.
A Dekalb County, Alabama native, Mrs. Moseley was born on July 21, 1925, the daughter of Robert and Sarah Jane McCreless Upton. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Roanoke and was a retired teacher with the Roanoke Board of Education. Mrs. Moseley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. Phillip Jackson Moseley, Sr.; son-in-law, Jackie Charles Biddle; brothers, Charlie Upton, Horace Upton, and Dial Upton; and sisters, Winnie Upton, Beatrice Davis, Ellen Brown, Winona Proctor, and Nell Bohanon.
