Obituary

Memorial services for Michael “Mike” Heard, age 69, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Gerald Romine and Bro. Jonathan Randall officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 AM before services begin.

Mr. Heard passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Piedmont Hospital Columbus in Columbus, GA.

Survivors include: one daughter, Brandy Heard of Atlanta, GA; one son, Jamie Heard (Mandy) of Wadley; his mother, Myrtle Richardson Heard of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Anslee Freeman (Luke) of Wadley and Cain Heard (Brittany) of Roanoke; one great-grandchild, Miller Ann Freeman; and one sister Deborah Brown of Roanoke.

A Roanoke native, Mr. Heard was born on August 29, 1954, the son of Alton and Myrtle Richardson Heard.  He was Christian by faith and worked as a carpenter.  Mr. Heard was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Susan Huddleston; and two brothers, Danny Heard and Dan Dailey.
