Obituary

Funeral services for Wanda Jo Bridges Braswell, age 72, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 12:00 Noon at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Anthony Caldwell and Bro. Scott Whaley officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-4:00 PM on Friday, May 17, 2024.

Ms. Braswell passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Diversicare in Pell City, AL.

Survivors include her daughter, Crystal Huey of Springville; one son, Bryan (Patricia) Guinn of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Jada Ellis, Colby Ellis, Ryan Wills, Brittany Carrington, and Cale Hickey; three great-grandchildren, Harlie Foster, Hayden Foster, and Henley Carrington; and three sisters, Denease (Larry) Moore, Sherry Taylor, and Christie (Ronald) Turner, all of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Cale Hickey, Clint Carrington, Colby Ellis, Ryan Wills, Joe Davis, and Roy Bryant.

A Randolph County native, Ms. Braswell was born to Hubert and Jimmie Brown Bridges on August 22, 1951. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. While she was primarily a homemaker, one of her greatest passions and sources of pride was her ceramics shop in Carrollton, GA. Ms. Braswell adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved watching Heartland on T.V. Ms. Braswell is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Terry Bridges and an infant son.

Memorials may be floral or the family requests donations be made to a stroke foundation or a dementia organization of one’s choice .
