Funeral services for Sarepta Ann Ford "Sara" McDaniel, age 86, of Roanoke, will be held, Sunday, September 30, 2012, at 3:00 pm from Roanoke First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Barrow officiating. Ms. McDaniel will lie in state for one hour prior to services beginning at 2:00 pm. Burial to follow in Cedarwood Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday, September 29th, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Bill Ford, Wayne Tobin, Parrish Tobin, and Kevin Beightol.
Ms. McDaniel died Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Traylor Nursing Home.
Sara is survived by one daughter, Dorothy (husband, David) Tobin of Dublin, GA; brother, Robert (wife, Jean) Ford of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Sarepta Tobin (husband, Juan) Archila and Daphne Lelora Tobin both of Atlanta; two great-grandchildren, Camilo David Archila and Josephine Sarepta Archila both of Atlanta.
Sara was born October 23, 1925, the daughter of William Byrd and Sarepta Urbis Longshore Ford. She was a member of Roanoke First United Methodist Church and a graduate of Auburn University. Ms. McDaniel retired as a pharmacist with Randolph County Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Roanoke First United Methodist Church organ fund (Roanoke FUMC, PO Box 40, Roanoke, AL 36274).
