Obituary of Betty Ann Laster
Funeral services for Betty Ann Laster, age 78, of Five Points will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Community Baptist Church with Bro. Claude Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, June 14, 2024. Mrs. Laster will lie in state at the church beginning at 12:00 PM on Saturday before services begin.
Mrs. Laster passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at her residence.
Survivors include: two daughters, Barbara Ann Laster of Verden, OK, and Brenda Sue Hammock (Chris) of Roanoke; two sons, Robert Gene Laster (Amy) of Palmetto, GA, and Terry Lee Laster (Carrie Holloway) of Roanoke; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Willie Sue Kirby (Harry) of Valley, AL, Frances Kemp of Plant City, FL, and Daisy Mae Arnold of Shelby, TN; and one brother, Clyde Benefield (Terri) of LaGrange, GA.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Laster, Jesse Craig, Andrew Hammock, Christopher Hammock, Chris Gomez, Zack Laster, and Bobby Tyler Laster.
A Lawrenceville, Tennessee native, Mrs. Laster was born on May 7, 1946, the daughter of William and Lillie Clifton Benefield. She was a member of Community Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Laster sold produce and loved selling watermelon particularly. She also loved going to the casino. Mrs. Laster was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Laster; daughter, Judith Ann Laster Garey; and three brothers, Richard Earl, Charles Gene, and Bud Benefield.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home to go toward final expenses.
