Obituary of Tommie Lou Orr
Private funeral services for Tommie Lou Orr, age 88, of Roanoke were held on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tim Teague officiating. Burial followed at Randolph Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Orr passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at her residence.
Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Nelson (Keith, Sr.) of Roanoke; 6 grandchildren, Ellyn Stephenson, Terry Orr, Kaycee May, Karen Nelson, Cindy Head, and Keith Nelson, Jr.; several great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mary Warner, Joyce Brown, and Debra May.
A Roanoke native, Mrs. Orr was born on September 25, 1935, the daughter of Denson Odell and Lorene Croker Robinson. She was Christian by faith and had attended Roanoke 1st Church of God until its closing. She had worked as a secretary at Alfa Insurance before retiring. Mrs. Orr also worked as a real estate agent for Reliance Realty in Roanoke. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Orr; her son, Carey Orr and her brother, Denson O. Robinson, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lebanon Christian Church in Mrs. Orr’s memory.
