Funeral services for Vinis Victoria “Lucy” Boggs Smith, age 52, of Anniston will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Mike Brewer officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Wednesday before services begin.
Mrs. Boggs-Smith passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at her home in Anniston.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bubba George, Eric Hand, Chase McEntyre and Gary Pike.
Survivors include her daughter, Tanna Smith (Chase McEntyre) of LaGrange, GA; two sons, Casey (Desiree) Smith of Anniston and Tevin Smith (Haley Thompson) of LaGrange; those she considered children, Christian (Tessa) Holloway of LaGrange, Suede Peavy (Mckenzie Taylor) of Wadley, Rachel Callow (Alex Gragg) of Newton, IA, Telisa (Steven) Harrison of Anniston, Samantha Allen of Talladega, Angel Holloway of LaGrange, Blake Smith of Parkersburg, WV, Chris Rice of LaGrange, and Chelsey Mobley of Roanoke; 17 grandkids; two brothers, Freddie (Debbie) Boggs and Wayne (Margie) Boggs, both of Rock Mills; her partners, Roy McDill and Lisa Dick, both of Anniston; special friends, Margaret (Keith) Mitchell, Michelle (Larry) Driver, Ronald Cameron, all of Roanoke and Tiffany Holloman of Chapel Hill, NC; step-siblings, Earnest Lance, Joyce Wagner, Michelle Lance, Amanda Knight, Amy Grant and Sara Horsley; and her fur-baby, Lily.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Lucy was born on August 23, 1971, the daughter of Jimmy Wayne Boggs and Judy Lois and Carl Owens. She had worked at Wal-Mart, 431 Fuel Connection and CoreLinc before retiring. Lucy was Christian by faith and had attended Liberty Rock Church in Heflin while her health allowed her. Her love of bingo earned her the title of “Bingo Queen”. Lucy was playful and joyful, even going by the nickname “Mama Fluffy”. Mainly, Lucy will be remembered for her huge heart; she poured out her love to her family, adopted family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lee Smith and her infant daughter, Sunshine Smith.
