He was a United States Army veteran and was a member of Lowell Methodist Church where he had served as treasurer since the 1950s. Mr. Maddux was a Godly man who loved his church and church family, had a joyful heart and loved people, and prayed for everyone. He adored his family and doted on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Maddux was an avid Alabama Football fan and also loved to fish, the outdoors, and his flowers and butterflies. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara Thrower Maddux; daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Bonner; brother, Walter Lewis Maddux; and sister, Francette Haynes.
Memorials may be floral but the family would prefer donations to the Lowell Methodist Church Youth Ministries Fund.
