Memorial services for Joyce Hancock, age 89, of Roanoke, will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Holcombe and Rev. Billy Watts officiating.

The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum’s from 2:00-4:00 PM on Thursday before services begin.

Survivors include: her daughter, June Windsor of Roanoke; son, Ricky Hancock (Arrie) of Wedowee; grandson, Cody Roberts of Roanoke; and a special sister, Mollie Caldwell of Wadley.

A lifelong Roanoke resident, Mrs. Joyce was born on February 12, 1935, the daughter of Marion T. and Ida Huckabee Overton. She was Christian by faith and was a member of North Main Congregational Christian Church. Mrs. Joyce was a hard-working woman who wore many hats during her working years, from Clegg’s Manufacturing in Wadley, a supervisor at Amoco Fabrics and Fibers, to retirement at Roanoke Nutrition at 86 years old. When she wasn’t busy at work, she enjoyed flowers and working in her yard. Mrs. Joyce will be remembered for her giving heart and her tremendous love of her family. Mrs. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Mark Windsor; grandson, Bill Hancock; granddaughter-in-law, Tabatha Hancock; and great-grandson, Logan Hancock.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 319 College Street, Roanoke, AL 36274, to assist with final expenses.
